Great lamp article Royce. Interesting that very similar Jno. Brown carbide generators appeared in multiple versions that seem to offer little if any performance improvement, from one style to the other. This same lower tank was also offered with a (4) hole base mounting, both cast and spun brass base construction, and also used a ratchet tightening clamp arm instead of the wing-nuts for the top tank. Anyone out there know if there is a chronology of these versions, or perhaps whether all versions may have been available during the same timeframe?
